Vintage Design
This Dagobert armchair in solid walnut is inspired by the throne of the French king Dagobert in the year 630. It recalls the curule seats of the Romans and presents decorations of Gothic style with Renaissance taste.
This seat is characterized by an X-shaped base, in two elements in the lower part joined by a bar and a lower crosspiece composed of volutes and notched on top. Its curved seat rests on wooden slats with moldings. The two armrests end in scrolls with sculptures of acanthus leaves. These are topped by a large scroll decorated with a shell and a grimacing mask.
The openwork back has a wide transverse band sculpted with scrolled leaves on a granite background.
Very decorative, this armchair will delight lovers of unusual antiques.
