Stylish low table or Chabudai 茶袱台 from the Meiji period, Japan.
Dimensions: height 32 cm, width 92 cm, depth 92 cm.
The table features beautiful curved legs finished in chestnut brown/black lacquer. Both the underside and tabletop are black lacquered.
Due to its age, the table has a lovely weathered and worn appearance.
This type of table was used for tea ceremonies or for seated dining, writing, and are often characterized by simple designs.
This Chabudai is ideal as a side table or as a display for plants, ceramics, etc., and will add an authentic Japanese interior accent to your space.
